Important Notice: All Zavala County Bank Customers (Equifax data breach)

Even though Zavala County Bank does not report customer information to Equifax, we feel it is important for you to know the following:

Recently, the credit bureau reporting company Equifax announced a major data breach of their computer systems potentially impacting approximately 143 million Americans. Equifax reported from mid-May through July of this year unauthorized persons gained access to names, Social Security numbers, birth dates, addresses and in some cases driver’s licenses.  Equifax has established a website ( https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com ), where consumers can get information on this information security breach and how they can protect their credit. In addition, the Federal Trade Commission ( www.FTC.gov ) is offering steps consumers can take to help protect their information from being misused.

Zavala County Bank would like to encourage all our customers to take measures to protect your non-public personal information by taking the time to frequently review your financial account activity.  Bank accounts, credit card activity, consumer loan activity, etc. should all be reviewed on a regular basis to detect any fraudulent transactions.

Need to better control your Debit Card spending?

There’s an App for that !

Zavala County Bank is pleased to introduce CardValet®, a Debit Card management app that helps reduce fraud by allowing cardholders to monitor their accounts and control how, when and where their debit card is used.  Cardholders simply download the free app from the Apple® App Store or Google® Play Store, and once CardValet is set up, cardholders have the ability to “turn off” their card when not in use preventing any unauthorized transactions.

CardValet offers cardholders the capability of linking additional accounts to better monitor dependent spending. For example, controls can be established for college students, along with restrictions on merchant type and spending limits.

The launch date is February 1st, so be ready to have control over your Debit Card like you have never had before.
